Woody's
family

Hi There, I'm Woody, (AKA David Percival) the proud owner of Woody's Cycles. For close to 25 years we have remained a small personable shop with a big racing heritage. I am very proud of our great success in racing. Personally I have been lucky enough to win a few myself. From the early days of drag racing (helps with your holeshots) to road racing production class 350 and 750 cc and finally a 250 cc Grand Prix bike, which I won a national title on in 1992. The assistance of good buddies Pete Snell, Mike Busby and Dave Dalton helped to make that national title a reality. Along the way I also picked up 2 ice race titles.

Now my feet remain firmly planted on dirt, riding my much loved KTM's. We ride at least twice a week and at over 50 years of age I have never felt physically better in my life.

More importantly to our customers is what we learn from racing and riding. Chassis, suspension and engine setup are all finesse components that you can only truly learn how to set up properly by riding and gathering experience.

If any of your bike needs fall into the categories of motocross, off road racing, off road riding, road racing or ice racing, please give us a call. We are pleased to be at your service.

A good friend once asked me if I knew when the first motorcycle race took place. "No", I said, "When?". "Shortly after they made the second motorcycle", my friend responded.

After I reflected on that for a while, I realized it as so very true. Competition exists in many forms, from two buddies out for a « friendly » ride to a group of athletes racing at a national level. Woody’s Cycles is happy to serve them all! In fact, we are dedicated to, and are driven by, a strong competitive instinct.

We look forward to counting you among the hundreds of customers who make the trip to Woody’s Cycles each year, including our former national #1 plate holder in off-road racing, Alan Lachapelle (masters class). We are also proud to sponsor MX riders Dylan Wright, Danial Corbett and Kyle Bohme. We take great pride in our races and go out of our way to ensure that all of our races are able to be at the top of their game week in and week out.

This only means one thing for you … as our customer, you will deal with knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated riders who know which accessories, oils, and other parts work best for your dirt or street bikes. We will adapt to your needs as well as your particular application. Talk to me, Woody, for a wealth of off-road tips and ideas.

Sincerely
Woody

Hi, my name is Mike Jonker I’m 19 years old and have been involved with riding motorcycles since I was 9 years old. In 2007 Woody’s Cycles began to help me out with my riding and racing endeavors and since then I have never had to wonder if my bike is up to the challenge for a weekend of racing. With a great wealth of knowledge and many parts in stock Woody’s has been keeping my bike and me competitive at the races. Their shop is the way a genuine motorcycle shop should be; very personable, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Because of these reasons it is always an enjoyable experience dealing with them, and I always look forward to my next visit.

I have been a customer at Woody’s since I have been riding KTM in 2001. Being a serious racer I can’t afford not having a part and missing a race. Woody and his staff have never let me down. If the part is not in stock they will find a way to get me what I need and if it’s late in the week they will bring it to the race. Woody is a racer himself, so he understands the needs of his customers. His endless enthusiasm, mechanical knowledge and unique style are a pleasure to be associated with and an asset to my success over the years.

Dealing with Woody's Cycles in purchasing my young child's first bike was an extremely refreshing experience. Woody took time out of his busy schedule to ensure that Dylan was getting the right bike for his size and potential use. Woody spent time with us going over the bike and provided an excellent list of how too's. Dylan is now racing and Woody has been there for us every step of the way. He has a keen interest in how Dylan is doing and has made us feel like one of the family. Dylan loves going out to Woody's. Woody has gone out of his way on several occasions to ensure that Dylan's bike is race ready and always seems to get the parts on time. The product knowledge of Woody and Dave is second to none and when we need answers they have them. All of the guys at Woody's are expert level riders and truly love the sport. It is the love of the sport that comes through in the post sales service. All of the young people I have seen at Woody's leave with a smile every time. For Dylan and I it is worth the trip from Ottawa for all of our bike needs. I would highly recommend Woody's to anyone looking for bike service or looking to purchase a KTM.

Sincerely,
Bill Wright

Until just recently I had lost my life long passion for motorcycling. I had begun my quest in 1975 with my first roost of mud and eventually ended up as a canyon carver. My love of mud and bugs in my teeth was dissipated primarily due to the degree of sales and service I had experienced during nearly 30 years of riding, fixing and buying these two wheeled thrill machines.

During the spring of 2002 I thought it was about time to introduce my son Daniel to the wonderful world of motorcycles. So off we went to the local dealer and as usual the same frustrations were evident. However, this was for my son and I painfully bit my tongue.

Well as fate would have it, my boy wanted to race moto-cross and his Japanese bike couldn’t cut it. The hottest ticket on the scene was and still is the KTM SX Pro 50 LC and we had to have one. A couple of calls later and I was on my way to Perth Ontario to talk a deal with a guy named Woody.

I have been in hundreds of shops from Canada to England and even Africa, but man oh man I had never seen a shop like this nor had I ever met another person that shared my passion as Woody had and does. The long extinct flame for motorcycling once again burned bright.

I explained to Woody what I wanted and why and because of his vast knowledge and my own experience we figured out what my boy would need in order to do well as a Pee Wee racer.

Time in and time out, woody has been a valuable source of information, parts, accessories and his wrench turning is second to none.

When you walk through the door of Woody’s Cycles, you instantly feel like part of the family, and its one of the reasons I keep going back.

Hi my name is Scott Jewell I am 45 and have been involved with motorcycles since the age of 10.

For me it all started with the mini bike scene and eventually moving up to riding various dirt bikes and also racing motocross. When I entered College I left the bike scene and did not reappear until I was 24, that's when I started riding Harleys and owning 3 of them.

As a matter of fact I am still involved with H-D my position is District Manager for Harley-Davidson/Buell in Ontario, I have been in the industry for 12 years.

However when I turned 42 I started thinking about getting back into doing some off road riding, I wanted some diversity, so to make a long story short I was working one of the various bike shows and that's when it alI started! It was Orange and black and oozed quality it was the new 2001 KTM 400EXC.

I began talking to one of the longest standing KTM dealers in Ontario and he asked me where I was from and suggested I contact Woody at Woody's Cycle in Perth Ont. (excellent retailer network helping each other out like that ), so off I went to Woody's.

Once there I was pleasantly surprised to see a laid back dealership located on a private lake, the building and surroundings were that of a REAL motorcycle "Shop" I liked it.

So for me I had a flashback of some of my first experiences entering the bike world when I was younger ,I did not know it then but because of the unpretentious atmosphere and extremely knowledgeable folks at Woody's ( Woody, Dave, Scott ) I bought 2 bikes to date, both KTM's, my current woods weapon being a 450 EXC.

I feel that it is important to invest in your business when I say invest I mean investing in your customers, this is something which I feel Woody and the gang are naturals at, number one because they are enthusiasts themselves they all ride KTM's and participate in numerous events, each year Woody has hosted a CMA National round of Hare Scrambles, and if you show up on a Wednesday afternoon you can join a few of the guys to go for a ride on some of Woody's trails , is that the best or WHAT!, secondly they service the heck out of their customers, I have phoned a few times with service work to be done and they say come on in we'll fit you in and on occasion Woody has let me get my hands greasy by helping out, for me that's cool as I like bikes and love to learn how to fix things.

If it sounds like I'm pumped about the sport it's because I am this dealership is pumped and it has rubbed off on to me, and isn't that what it's all about enthusiasm and having fun and promoting the sport to others.

I feel very fortunate to have returned to the dirt bike scene but more importantly it is great to know that I have a dealership which has been their to help me and coach me along.

A customer for life!
Thx guys.
